At NeoMetal, we are committed to fostering a world that is safe and supportive for everyone, irrespective of sexual orientation or gender identity. In celebration of Pride Month, we are thrilled to launch our third annual Pride Collection, with the addition of new petite clusters and expanded curved cluster variety. This collection aims to champion visibility and representation for LGBTQ+ individuals worldwide.
The LGBTQ+ Community's Influence on Body Piercing
The LGBTQ+ community has played a large role in shaping the modern body piercing industry, and the relationship between queer identity and body modifications has a long history. In 1975, Jim Ward founded the first-ever piercing studio and body jewelry manufacturer, The Gauntlet. As a gay man, Ward learned to pierce as part of the BDSM and leather communities. He is responsible for popularizing a variety of body piercings, developing many modern-day techniques, and jewelry designs. As piercing gained more mainstream popularity in the '90s, its roots remained firmly embedded in the LGBTQ+ community, serving as a powerful symbol of bodily autonomy and self-expression. Despite piercing and body modifications now being more widely accepted, queer rights and bodies are still publicly debated, restricted, and demonized. This history is why our Pride Collection is so close to our hearts and why we are committed to celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
Supporting The Trevor Project
This year, we are proud to donate $6,500 to support The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people. This marks our second year supporting The Trevor Project and their mission to end suicide among LGBTQ+ young people.
We invite you to learn more about The Trevor Project’s life-saving mission at www.TheTrevorProject.org.
The Gilbert Font: Celebrating Diversity Through Typography
As part of our commitment to inclusivity and representation, we are excited to incorporate the Gilbert font into our Pride campaign for a second year. Named after Gilbert Baker, the creator of the iconic rainbow Pride flag, the Gilbert font is designed to celebrate diversity and inclusivity. This vibrant and bold typeface captures the spirit of the LGBTQ+ community and serves as a reminder of the importance of visibility and representation. By using the Gilbert font, we aim to honor the legacy of Gilbert Baker and the ongoing fight for equality and acceptance.
Year-Round Pride
Our expanded Pride Collection serves as a tangible expression of our unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community. These products are available all year long because Pride goes beyond the month of June. We hope to inspire inclusivity, acceptance, and love not only during Pride Month but every day of the year. Let us celebrate and embrace the vibrant spectrum of identities that make our world truly extraordinary.
